Surveys and Scenarios

Introduction

The Virtual Cell Development Team is dedicated to researching the effectiveness of virtual worlds as tools to improve various aspects of education. We have developed a number of surveys we use to gauge student computer hardware and software skills and the response of students to the usage of the our virtual world. Each of those can be accessed from the list on the left.

Virtual Cell student assessment takes the form of subjective scenarios. These scenarios ask the student to solve a problem related to the field of general cell biology. The student is then graded using a scale that compares the student performance against that expected of a professional in the field of cell biology. You can view the scenarios and the scoring system for one question by clicking on the appropriate item from the list on the left.
